Aneurisma Cerebral

Peter Keston

The image shows a 'berry' aneurysm at the base of the brain. The wall of the basilar artery has ballooned out, ruptured and has caused a devastating brain haemorrhage. To block the blood flow inside the aneurysm and prevent further bleeding, a platinum wire (the thickness of a human hair) is coiled up inside the berry.
